Honey Ginger Lemon Syrup is a Homemade traditional Digestive Syrup made with a special raw multi floral honey collected by the Paliyans, an ancient indigenous community near Kodaikanal. A tea spoon of this syrup after a meal helps a lot in the Digestion process. This syrup can also be added with Sparkling water/Soda for a fizzy drink and also a perfect ingredient for some interesting mocktails or cocktails. It has the goodness of wild honey, Ginger, lemon juice and spices, a healthy elixir.
Ingredients:
Raw honey from Palani Hills near Kodaikanal, Ginger, Lemon juice, Cane sugar, Pepper, Cardamom and Cloves.
Contains no added preservatives, taste enhancers, colours or flavours.
Honey Used:
Pure and Raw multi floral wild honey is used. The honey is collected by the Paliyans, an ancient indigenous community in Palani hills near Kodaikanal.
Expiry:
1 year from the date of packaging under ideal storage conditions.
Personal Note from the maker – Due to food safety rules we have to mention the “Best Before date“ as 1 year from the date of packaging. But this Syrup has a long shelf life due to the honey and the process used to make this syrup. It can last 3 – 4 years or more if stored well and precautions followed.

It can also be a good ingredient for some interesting mocktails or cocktails.
Storage & Precautions:
Do store in a dry place. It does not need any Refrigeration. Always use a clean and completely dry spoon.
People who are diabetic and others advised not to take Honey should not have this syrup.

Family & History behind this Syrup experience:
This traditional Honey, Ginger & Lemon Digestive syrup has been especially handmade by Chinmaya Arjun Raja and his mother Prabavathi Arjun of Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu, and is inspired by a recipe that has been with the family for many generations. It is called “AllapuCharu” in Telugu spoken at Rajapalayam. Raw Honey collected from their family Estate in the Western Ghats mountain range near Settur Village Reserve Forest 20 kms from Rajapalayam used to be the main ingredient for this preparation for many decades, but due to the Estate not being used presently, Honey is now sourced from the Kodaikanal region.
